From Larry Stickney: Yes, you have found a very showy plant, that Blazing Star named for Menzies. Until you have seen it at dusk being attacked by dozens of large colorful moths, each trying to be the first to suck its honey from unopened buds, you aren't fully familiar with it. They are worse than a pack of horny dogs pursuing a bitch in heat.  -- Larry

Cecelia and I gathered seed pods both from the Blazing Star and from the Evening Primrose.

We plan to plant the seeds before the winter starts and hope to see them sprout by next spring!
