Our New Roof
August - September, 2010

< back to 2010

This year, we finally decided to get a new roof installed.

A local contractor and son of a good friend came to the house and started by removing the old corrugated roof.

The pictures below are some of the shots taken, both before, during, and after construction.

The project involved removing the old roof and underlying shingles, installing new plywood sheeting, removing an unused chimney, leveling the roof over the home-built addition, adding some small "crickets" over each entrance (for both snow and rain diversion), installing the new roof, and a doing a few other repairs on the house.

We also had the contractor, John Huddleston, put preservative oil on the house.
